Warm St. Patrick’s wishes!

As we look towards spring, I am sending a pot full of St. Patrick’s wishes for you on this wonderful celebration!
Everyone is a little Irish for the next 24 hours

“The Luck Of The Irish”

This phrase did not have its roots in Ireland!
During the gold and silver rush years in the second half of the 19th century, a number of the most famous and successful miners were of Irish and Irish American birth….
Over time this association of the Irish with mining fortunes led to the expression “luck of the Irish“.

“Emerald Rivers”

Every year, the Chicago River in Chicago, Illinois, is dyed emerald green. The tradition has been going strong for over five decades.

Using a speedboat, a harmless vegetable dye is added into the river to get the perfect St. Paddy’s Day shade. The colour lasts about 12 hours before it fades away.
This year is no exception. Chicago surprised the city with the traditional green river for St. Patrick’s Day after saying the event would be cancelled.
