About The World Series
The World Series has been the annual championship series of the highest level of professional baseball in the US and Canada since 1903. It is played between the American and National Leagues champions. The winner of the World Series championship is determined through a best of seven playoffs and the team is awarded the Commissioner’s Trophy. The winning team also receives a proportion of the gate receipts from the series.
The New York Yankees of the American League have played in 40 of the 105 World Series and have won 27 World Series championships, more than any other Major League franchise. The Brooklyn/Los Angeles team from the National League have played in 18 Series, and won 6 times (once as Brooklyn and 5 times as Los Angeles). The St. Louis Cardinals have represented the National League 17 times and have won 10 championships, the second most of any Major League Team. The Chicago Cubs have played the most seasons without winning the World Series, with their last championship in 1908.
Good Luck this year to the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers!
All the experts had the Yankee’s verses the Phillies in the World Series. That’s why they make them play the games. How can you not go for the Texas Rangers. Never being in the World Series. Getting rid of A-rod and his 25 million dollar a year contract years ago. The Josh Hamilton story. Bengie Molina getting traded to the Rangers from the Giants about 4 months ago. Vladimir Guerrero, the free swinging Designated hitter who once played for the Montreal Expos.
I take the Rangers in 6.
Timothy
Not a big fan of baseball but I take the Rangers in 6 as well. Kind of feel like it is their time this year.
Texas Rangers in 6
Timm – sorry, but I also take Texas in 6 games. Maybe Blue Jays with a new Manager will compete in 2011 or 2012.
I think the Rangers will win in 6 games and Josh Hamilton will win MVP.
Hi TIM…ALL you have to see is the BATTING stats of the TEXAS RANGERS versus the GIANTS..good grief…the series will be short and sweet for the cowpokes..the RANGERS will take the series in FOUR GAMES

Rangers knocked out my Yanks… I say San Fran in 5… Plus Brian Williams dyed Black beard is kick ass!! its very Chuck Norris!! And they Have Berry Bonds as their hitting coach so you know they are all “cranked up”!!
Ps. its lucky that the World series has two good weather teams, could you imagine baseball in November in Toronto with the roof open?? Now thats some cold Balls!!
Hey Tim I say the Rangers in 5 games. How can they not win with a DH like Vladi playing for them..
Texas in 7.
I like the road Texas has taken and the pieces of the puzzle they’ve brought in over the past 3 – 4 years. But, when all is said and done, the Giants and their “have a good time and kick ass while your doing it” attitude will take the series in 6. I second Matt’s Chuck Norris comparison. Do you know that Chuck Norris got a night light? Not because he’s scared of the dark, because the dark is scared of him…
P.S. – If I win I’ll trade the gift card for a signed real estate sign for my sports memorabilia room.
Giants in 6 it’ about time
Baseball fans
Marco, Peter and Chris – Can’t believe how you guys are stealing my pick of the Giants in 6.
Matt, settle down there Leafs fan, this is a family chat board but I’m sure the Blue Jays would luv to be playing in November!
Michael, the market has slowed down so I might be able to get you that Salisbury SOLD Sign for Xmas but only if you convert to a Sabres and Bills fan!
Timothy
Texas in 5. Their hitting is too good. Besides, Brian Wilson’s beard looks like shoe polish – too messy!
San Fran in 6 but only because my husband is betting on the Rangers.
Hi Tim. Put me down for the Rangers in 7 games. Cheers!!
Well everyone who picked the Giants are looking pretty good right now. Not only did they win game 1 but beat the Rangers best pitcher Cliff Lee. Let’s see what happens in tonights game 2 matchup.
Baseball Fans – Client of mine has a offer for you for the Jays upcoming 2011 season – I have a pair of Jays tickets that are Row 7, first 2 seats on the asle, in Section 127 (directly up from 3rd base)I have had them since 1984 and are probably the best value seats in the park.
I am looking to sell the majority of the 2011 tickets and specifically looking for a buyer for a half season(40 games) or more. I will entertain any purchase offers of 10 or more. The tickets are $45.45 each. If you, your company or anyone you know(please forward) are interested please contact me soon. Buying these tickets for 2011 and beyond could be the same great timing I had in 84.

San Francisco.
I can’t believe the Giants took the World Series in 5 games!! We had 2 baseball experts get it right. Matt and Sean. A draw will take place just before the next newsletter goes out to determine the winner.
thanks to everyone who participated.
Timothy
After the names of Sean and Matt were thrown into the Buffalo Sabres hat, (always have to plug my boys) the name of Matt Cuthbert was pulled out. Congrats Matt!! Thanks to everyone who participated in this World Series game.
