Tonight is the first football game in the NFL (National Football League) between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. This blog allows me to let everyone know that I’m a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and I’m hoping, at least this year, we will be in the playoff hunt! A few of my football friends, especially Shawn and Glen, have the Bills going 6-10 and 9-7, respectfully. I think they’ll be 7-9 and I’m really hoping, with a little luck, we can go 9-7. They will have a better offense this year, but the defense will be the worst in the league. One of the best football Websites for Fantasy Football that has up-to-the-minute updates on players and their injuries, would be Pro Football Talk. Should you want to follow your favourite team, you can visit the Official NFL site. The Bills will be hosting the Denver Bronchos this Sunday (9/9) at 1:00 p.m. and it brings Travis Henry back to Buffalo. It should be a close game and I hope, with a little luck, we can start the season with a win. Until next week…GO BILLS!!!
Well Football Fans…!

As much as I dislike disagreeing with you (heeheehee), your Bills have zero chance of making the playoffs this year. I just hope they don’t get too embarassed by Dallas on their Monday night game. If it’s any consolation to you, my Vikings are alomost as bad as your Bills.
Cheers,
Paul

yes, your Vikings will have a long season as well Paul but at least you have that # 7 pick as your running back Adrian Peterson, he will be awesome!!

At least none of you have to suffer through being a Raider fan!!

Throughout the years I have been a fan of many teams. Well the Bills made their 4 trips to the Superbowl I was a fan, but not of their offense. It was there defense that got them there. If they don’t have a balanced team (or at least a reasonably good D) they have NO hope of making a run for playoffs. The good teams score on every series (even if just a chip shot for 3). The teams that make it through playoffs have exceptional D, which not only cause turnovers to get you the ball, they quite often “pick it” for scores as well.
I have not followed it much (yet) this season due to work but based on your comments about their defense. I’d say 6-10 would be optimistic. Of course that really depends on the teams they are playing against.
The real question is this. How do they match up in their DIVISION?

One more comment. I always cheer for the raiders. I was one of those very outraged people a few years ago, when the Raiders caused a turnover (in the playoffs against Patriots) that would have allowed them to maintain possession. However due to that pathetic REF’ing call, the Pats retained the ball, kicked a field goal to win and went on to win the superbowl. My buddy has the Oakland Shield tatooed on his chest. He says…that’s a real REAL fan. 🙂

thanks for the info T1, always count on you for a few long winded paragraphs 😉 Most great teams win on defense, it doesn’t relly matter what sport in most cases. T2

Well…after today’s game. I fear the worse for Buffalo. I stand by the 6-10 season prediction. After all, with 3 mins on the clock, 3rd down and 5. You don’t throw a hail Mary. You throw a quick strike to move the chain, then just ground/pound out the clock. Everybody knows that…geesh. I’ll keep watching. Hopefully the offense coordinator will wise up next week.

Tim,
Tough luck for you that must have been hard to watch on Sunday. Thinking everything is great and the win is in the bag to OOHH my god they got the kick off and…… OUCH. Almost as bad as WIDE RIGHT the two words every Bills fan loves. Do you have any good contacts for tickets I am looking to go see my team the COWBOYS beat up the Bills in the Monday nighter.
As for your playoff hopes you may as well put that dream to bed now.
New England
Indy
San Diego
Baltimore
Win the divisions
Then you have Cinnci, Denver, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh Are all ahead of the Bills for the wild card.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see the Bills finish behind the Jets and Dolphins.

Tough watching the Buffalo Bills today in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. The offense was just simply horrible once again and the defense held the Steelers to just 4 field goals until the 4th quarter when it just didn’t matter anymore. JP Losman looks confused again just like last year, can’t make decisions quick enough, either run or just throw it away JP!! Will be a tough and long season for us Bills fans and next week will be even tougher against the New England Patriots. Until next week. Timothy

As an Eagles fan, I know all about the frustration of getting close enough to taste it (but not compared to the Bills Super Bowl experience.) I think Losman is not the answer. A really good NFL quarterback will show you something early on and build on it. If they don’t show you anything it’s probably because they have nothing to show. I’m sure there are a few exceptions but not enough to dissuade my belief. And can anyone (Shawn) explain to me why trying a long bomb on second and 2 or 3 is a better call than simply getting the first down. the Eagles did it twice last night, once while trying to tie the score. They settled for another loss.

Tim, Thanks for donating generously to my CN Tower Stair Climb for United Way. Once again, you come through in the clutch. I think Losman could learn a few things from you. It also shows that at least us Eagles fans are good for something.

Glen,I’m in no condition to comment intelligently on the Eagles offensive play calling as I’m still in mourning for the Raiders loss to the Broncos by an overtime FG hitting the upright..Brilliant move by Shannahan..
As well, the comments yesterday by McNabb that African-American QB’s are held to a higher standard than other QB’s has totally destroyed his credibility in my eyes. Its a tough time to be an Eagles, Raiders and (especially) a Bills fan.
I think JP Losman has just wrecked his future as a starting QB in this league… when the go’in got tough, he started blaming everbody else. Its a shame because he has all the physical tools.. too bad about the mental ones.
On the bright side, my Raiders are improved!!! With the Bills and Eagles apparently taking a step backwards; at least up to this point.

Well only 24 hours away from the Buffalo Bills taking the field against the Patriots. The spread 2 days ago was like 16 and a half points in favour of New England!! Can’t believe I will actually spend 3 hours and watch this game.

Finally a win, the Buffalo Bills while playing in front of a sell out crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium beat the visiting New York Jets 17-14 as the rookie quarterback Trent Edwards and running back Marshawn Lynch carried the offensive load. Jabari Greers and Terrence McGee both had a pick in this game. The hated Dallas Cowboys come into town next week for a Monday night game. The Dallas Cowboys have the highest rated offense and the Buffalo Bills are one of the worst defensive teams in the league so it should be interesting.

Oh Tim!
I was all set to type “How ’bout them B—-” but I’ll have to leave that for another week. While it was disappointing, it was exhilarating from a football fans perspective. I think Trent Edwards may be in for the rest of the season. He is showing me something that Losman never did. Don’t you feel better now? Retorts are welcome.

I couldn’t believe the outcome of the game. Through out the entire 1st half and most of the 2nd. I kept telling myself that somehow we will lose this game. When T.O. dropped the ball in the end zone, I finally cheered because I thought we had won the game since there was only 20 seconds left on the clock. A on side kick, 2 offensive plays and a field goal later. I was staring at the TV is disbelief. This team with all it’s injuries with just a little more luck could of been 2-2. Really felt bad for the Bills players, they played their hearts out in this game. Trent Edwards except for 1 play and a few sacks, looked great! I wasn’t really mad when he threw the pick, as a fan of a rookie quarterback, he’s gonna make mistakes. We have 2 weeks to think about this game, we don’t take the field again until the BALTIMORE RAVENS and Willis McGahee come to town on the 21st of October.
