Civic Holiday, August 1st

Civic Holiday events start on Friday July 30.  The Civic Holiday is the first Monday of August and offers a long weekend holiday during the summer vacation season in Canada……. a perfect time for family day activities, events and festivals.  This day is not a statutory holiday so most stores and businesses will be open.  All government agencies – including banks and the post office – will be closed.

**The OPP is warning boaters and motorists they’ll be doubling enforcement to crack down on aggressive drivers, impaired drivers, seatbelt and life-jacket use on waterways and roads this Civic Holiday weekend.

**About 370 LCBO stores and 228 Beer Store outlets across Ontario will open on civic holiday Monday. It is not included as statutory holiday under Ontario’s Retail Business Holidays Act.

A chance to be in the Second Annual Salisbury Team “kind of golf” tournament, which will be held on Wednesday, August 11th at Heritage Woods Golf Course in NOTL and will be followed up by delicious complimentary food and drinks at J. Rocks at 6:30 PM in the That’s Entertainment Plaza on Lake St. in St. Catharines.

We will have a shotgun starting at 4:00 PM.  Remember, this is a fun event and not just for the serious golfer.  We will have fun games on each of the holes, some of which you may not even be using a golf club!  So bring a fun loving attitude with you that day.
