Just received my Property Assessment Notice. Over the next 3 years, the City has my Property Value increasing approximately just over 15% percent.

I for one do not understand how similarly sized properties with similar sized homes have vastly different property taxes. For example, we built a new home in Thorold last year. After being reassessed, we're now paying more than people (larger homes and properties) living in Old Glenridge, Yates Street and North St. Catharines areas. At this rate, it would have made much more sense moving into an older area and investing the additional money saved on taxes.

Once we receive the notices from the city, post it here on the Blog what the change was. Whether they go up, stay the same or go down. Should be interesting.
